The 2026 Ford Maverick Lobo Standard delivers a compelling value proposition for pickup buyers by offering a robust package of standard equipment that rivals often reserve for higher trims or optional packages.
This truck appeals to analytical shoppers who compare equipment lists and calculate total ownership value. With standard AWD and a turbocharged engine, it is well-suited for variable weather and handling demands in regions like rd St. Homewood, IL. The inclusion of ActiveX Trimmed Front Bucket Seats and automatic temperature control ensures daily comfort, while a comprehensive suite of power features eliminates the need for costly upgrades. For buyers who expect high utility and efficiency without premium pricing, the Maverick Lobo Standard stands out as a smart choice.
Performance in this truck is a highlight when measured against cost, thanks to the EcoBoost 2.0L turbocharged engine paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. This combination delivers responsive acceleration, making highway merging and city driving equally stress-free, while AWD increases traction in rain or snow. The EPA ratings of 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway mean fuel savings compared to many full-size trucks, and the four-wheel independent suspension contributes to a composed ride even with a load in the bed. Lower maintenance costs are likely, given Ford's engineering focus on reliability for its powertrain components.
Safety value is maximized by including a suite of standard features that some rivals offer only as extra-cost options. The truck comes equipped with ABS brakes, electronic stability control, dual front and side impact airbags, a knee airbag, and a rearview camera. SYNC 4 911 Assist and rear parking sensors further enhance peace of mind without requiring buyers to step up to pricier trims. Auto high-beam headlights and emergency brake assist are also included, ensuring that key active safety technologies are standard, supporting both daily commutes and weekend utility tasks.
Packages and feature content in the Maverick Lobo Standard are designed to maximize ownership satisfaction without nickel-and-diming buyers. The Ford Connectivity Package with a 1-year 5G modem subscription is included, offering seamless internet access. Entertainment is covered by a 6-speaker AM/FM/SiriusXM with 360L system, and convenience features like remote keyless entry, power driver seat, and steering wheel audio controls are all standard. Functional detailsâ"like fully automatic headlights, fog lights, and a rear step bumperâ"enable the truck to adapt easily between work and leisure tasks.
When compared to competitors like the Chevrolet Colorado WT and Toyota Tacoma SR, this truck distinguishes itself by bundling features that would cost extra on those models. For example, while rivals may charge for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto or rear parking sensors, this truck includes them as standard.
What standard equipment is included? Buyers receive AWD, a turbocharged engine, advanced connectivity, SYNC 4 911 Assist, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, rear parking sensors, and ActiveX seatsâ"all standard. Is this truck worth the price? Its blend of performance, safety, and tech at the entry trim makes it an excellent value. Which trim offers the best value? The Standard trim delivers most sought-after features without add-on costs.

Nice little truck with great MPG
by Alex on 7/18/2026 2:12:33 AM
I drive a lot for my job and this truck has been great for its MPG. I switched to this from a Bronco sport and they handle very much the same. However I was only getting 25 MPG with that. Averaging 41 with the Mav! - 5.0
2nd Mav
by Generalmgr on 5/10/2026 12:26:28 PM
2025 Lariat hybrid AWD. Had a 2023 2.0 XLT. No real complaints about either. Hybrid efficiency around town is great, like 50 mpg. Highway at 70mph I’m only getting 33-34. Tows my 2-ATV trailer ok, but plan ahead if any get up and go is needed. The truck has plenty of torque at lower speeds but the lack of power at higher speeds is noticeable. This is my first EVT, didn’t think I’d like it but it really works perfectly. The best part is going downhill… the truck will maintain the speed you’re at when you lift off the gas. When the truck transitions from electric to gas, there is zero indication…no noise or shudder…zero. If you’re not looking at the dash you’d never know what mode the truck is in. The Lariat hybrid is much quieter overall than the EB. Auto headlights work really well. Did great in the heavy snow we had this year. Lane centering works very well. Few nitpicks: no fog light option? C’mon man. I’m not a fan of the touch only hvac controls, and they lag a bit on startup. The various menus in the dash cluster and in the infotainment screen are not at all intuitive, they are ridiculously bad….whoever signed off on those needs to find another profession. Good thing you don’t have to do much in there once you have things set up the way you like. I wish the truck had a slightly bigger battery…it would be nice to be able to go a a mile or two on electric only if you’re in Eco mode. The Lariat should have a super-cruise option, and a built in dash cam option. A cold weather package would be icing on the cake , especially if it included covering up the various under body areas that appear vulnerable from being open to the elements. Overall: yes I’d buy another Maverick, and I do recommend them to others….but… if other manufacturers come out with a truck that has all my wish list items, then I’d consider switching. - 5.0
A versatile vehicle! 2023 Mav Tremor
by TremorNV on 11/23/2025 3:02:38 AM
I went with the Tremor trim for more off-road capability. So far there hasn’t been a thing I couldn’t do with this Mav. I’ve gone on long road trips, explored rough trails, loaded lumber, hauled a sectional, towed a side by side with it, driven in Tahoe snow and many other things. First, I’d say it’s actually a fun drive. It really sticks to road and handling it is super easy. Yes, it has a plastic interior and the tech does feel a little outdated but you get what you pay for. It’s a 33k mini truck. I haven’t had any issues. The heated steering wheel is the hottest of any other one I’ve had. It has over gotten stuck on me and the bed is like 6.5 ft long with the tail gate down. Capable of hauling ten foot wood, which I’ve done. The gas mileage on my Tremor (Awd eco boost) is 28-29, which makes me happy. Truthfully, back in 2019 when Ford brought the Ranger back… it should have been this truck. It’s a great little truck, beats the Santa Cruz any day!
