The 2026 Ford Bronco Big Bend stands out as a high-value SUV for long-term owners seeking reliability, durability, and strong resale prospects. Its proven engineering and practical feature set make it a smart investment for those focused on minimizing unexpected costs and maximizing utility over many years of ownership.
Pragmatic buyers who prioritize dependable transportation and low long-term expenses will find this SUV especially appealing. The Bronco Big Bend is well-suited for families, outdoor enthusiasts, or anyone needing a versatile vehicle capable of handling tough Midwestern winters and daily commutes alike. Its 4WD drivetrain and robust construction enable confident driving in changing weather and on varied terrain, supporting an active lifestyle without compromising comfort or practicality.
Owners benefit from the proven 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, a combination recognized for both efficiency and longevity in the SUV segment. The Bronco's EPA ratings of 18 MPG city and 22 MPG highway allow owners to manage fuel costs over years of mixed driving. The drivetrain's reputation for lasting well beyond initial ownership supports both value retention and peace of mind for those planning to keep their vehicle for the long haul.
Active safety systems such as ABS brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control work to protect both occupants and investment, reducing the risk of costly accidents. Features like an exterior parking camera, integrated roll-over protection, and emergency communication via 911 Assist further enhance protection on daily drives and longer trips. These systems not only safeguard passengers but can help limit repair expenses and insurance claims over time.
Key features included in the Big Bend trim, such as heated door mirrors, remote keyless entry, and the Ford Connectivity Package, deliver day-to-day convenience and reduce the need for aftermarket upgrades. The seven-speaker audio system, SiriusXM with 360L, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls ensure a comfortable ride, while cloth bucket seats and a leather steering wheel offer a blend of comfort and durability. Variable intermittent wipers and fully automatic headlights add to all-weather usability.
Compared to other midsize SUVs like the Jeep Wrangler and Toyota 4Runner, the Bronco Big Bend offers a compelling balance of modern features, strong fuel economy, and anticipated lower depreciation. Its combination of a robust powertrain, practical equipment, and advanced safety tech positions it as a cost-effective choice for buyers who value predictable ownership costs and high resale value over time.

1st Bronco = A+
by Brandon on 4/14/2026 10:37:07 AM
I spent months reading reviews comparing the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco. The general consensus was the Bronco is easier to live with as a daily driver. I purchased a Bronco 1.5 years ago to consolidate my SUV and Convertible into one vehicle. It's been a dream to own thus far. Highs +Adaptive cruise control, easy to move down the freeway with minimal effort + Steering - nicely weighted, even after 40k miles goes down road in straight line +Styling - people always tell me how sharp the Bronco looks +Top down - awesome to put 4 other people in and hit the road +Removing hard top - not difficult, can be done by one person +Snow - feels secure and planted in NE Ohio winter snow +Comfort - Seats are great for long road trips +Stereo - Bang and O stereo sounds fantastic +Controls - thankful for buttons and not just screens +Gas Mileage - can average in the low-mid 20's if driven cautiously + Seat warmers - hot hot hot +Room - feels much less cramped inside than Jeep Wrangler Lows -Wind Noise can be pronounced, but not anything I can't live with -Hard top is sensitive, be careful removing it you can scratch and damage it -Windshield - because of steep angle, they like to get chipped / cracked -Interior - materials look a little cheap for a 55k vehicle (except seats = so nice) -2.3L engine - doesn't sound great, but does a great job of moving you forward If you're going to be a commuter, I recommend the Outer Banks model because it comes with the least aggressive tires. It also has body colored fender flares and just looks fantastic. I bought a black one with the black painted hard top. It is quite the looker. Also, get the High/Lux package so you get the Bang and Olfusen stereo, 360 degree camera, and adaptive cruise control. I usually change vehicles every 1-2 years, but I absolutely love this one and plan to keep it until the new model comes out. The fact that it was designed and built in America also speaks to me. The Bronco community and number of people that admire this vehicle will really surprise you. After nearly 40,000 miles I am firmly in the Bronco camp and plan to stay here for awhile! - 5.0
Great vehicle!

I have a 2024 Ford Bronco Outer Banks with the 2.3L. No issues at all. Drove it across country and it was comfortable. I bought mine with a hard top because I live in a climate with snow and wanted more security. I would recommend it.
