Four Available Powertrain Options

One exciting feature of the 2025 lineup of the Escape is there will be four unique powertrain options which include a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid. Ford boasts this diverse list of powertrains in efforts of making the Escape even more desirable and efficient which is no easy feat since the 2024 Escape proved to be quite successful.

Starting the list of the four powertrain options is a 1.5L three-cylinder Ecoboost engine that is standardly equipped to the base trims being the Active and ST-Line. This capable engine provides an ample 180 horsepower and 199 lb. ft. of torque which generates a comfortable and smooth ride. These trims will also come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drivetrain but there is an available option for an AWD system with disconnect.

Next in line will be the 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. This sporty powertrain comes standardly equipped with the ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, and Platinum trims and will produce an exciting 250 horsepower with 280 lb. ft. of torque to promote a fun experience. Similarly to the previous trims, those with the 2.0L EcoBoost will also come equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission but will come standard with an AWD system with AWD Disconnect.

Wrapping up this list will be a 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle Hybrid engine. This versatile powertrain is offered in a hybrid and plug-in hybrid application. The base hybrid engine can be fitted to any of the trims of the 2025 Ford Escapes except the Active trim and will require fuel. The 2025 Ford Escape Plug-In hybrid will be fully electrified and boasts 210 horsepower for the speedsters out there.
