In the Chicago area, its 4WD capability is especially reassuring during Midwest winters and unpredictable weather.
Everyday drives feel effortless thanks to the 3.6L V6 24V VVT engine paired with an 8-Speed Automatic transmission, providing smooth acceleration for merging onto highways or navigating city traffic. The adaptive suspension and four-wheel independent setup keep the ride composed, whether the cabin is filled with kids or cargo for a weekend trip. With EPA ratings of 19 city and 26 highway MPG, it combines power with efficiency.
Family safety is at the core of this SUV's design, featuring an array of active systems such as ABS brakes, electronic stability control, blind spot monitoring, and a back up camera for confident maneuvering in tight spaces. Dual front, side, knee, and overhead airbags offer coverage throughout the cabin, while LATCH anchor points ensure secure car seat installation. Rain-sensing wipers and automatic high-beam headlights further enhance safety and visibility.
Convenience meets luxury with features like a panoramic sunroof, power liftgate, and hands-free keyless entry, streamlining family logistics. The Uconnect 5 Nav system with a 10.1" display keeps navigation and entertainment at your fingertips, while the heated steering wheel and ventilated front seats offer comfort in all seasons. The Summit Reserve trim includes the Luxury Tech Group V and ADV Protech Group IV, adding premium touches and added peace of mind for parents.

Its combination of all-weather 4WD, luxury appointments, and a clean accident history ensures high value and lasting confidence for families who need year-round reliability and comfort.
Common concerns for family SUVs include warranty protection, cargo practicality, and rear seat comfort. The Grand Cherokee comes with a transferable 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty for added peace of mind. Rear seats split-fold for flexible cargo space, accommodating strollers and sports gear with ease. LATCH anchors and rear dual zone A/C make it practical for car seats and keep young passengers comfortable. A rear seat reminder system and back up camera support safe daily routines.

2022 4xe Used Bargain
by DannyK on 9/8/2026 3:09:22 PM
2022 4xe Limited with Tech II. I feel for the people who bought them new. However, these vehicles are a bargain in the used market. There are loads of lower mileage vehicles. If you can find one that has all of the recalls done this should be a good SUV. I don't think it matters which year you get either... It helps to get one with warranty remaining, but even with powertrain remaining, I got an extended warranty just in case. I don't keep cars for more than a year, so I will get money back from the warranty if I don't use it. I have loads of experience with various makes and hybrids. While not the best, the Jeep does a good job all the way around. Not rattles, no squeaks. Everything works like it should. The hybrid system is fairly smooth. I like that you can use different modes which helps if you are on longer road trips. You can use the e-save mode to save some electrons when driving long distance. I feel like this also helps the overall mpg. This is not a car you want to drive fast. Anything above 75 mph and you will not be happy with the mpg. I just took a 250 mile trip with a full charge. I averaged 27 mpg mostly highway driving around 70 mph. I used the electric only for in-town driving. All together my first tank at 356 miles averaged 32 mpg with 3 charges. That's good enough for me. During the week I commute 32 miles total a day. I charge every other day and use the engine for highway use. This is exactly how BMW manages their PHEV hybrid system.... Except BMW does all of this without driver input. Is the Jeep smooth like BMW?..no. But a used X5 similar year still costs $40k or more.... As for the tech in the Jeep. So far so good. I like the infotainment system very much. The sound is good and it's very intuitive. The front seats are comfortable and the back seat is fine. The leather is nice but slippery. I wish there were more of the tan color seats out there.... though black looks good enough. I can't complain so far. I'm glad I waited to buy one of these until now. This could be the bargain of the century if these end up holding up after all of the fixes. - 5.0
Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit is Amazing Value
by D Baytree on 8/31/2026 6:32:06 AM
Without question, when compared with BMW's, Mercedes, and Porsches that I have owned, the Jeep is the best when measured by value and reliability. The car is purpose built and does as advertised - it is not a sports car. It drives beautifully. It is safe. It delivers decent fuel economy. And the Summit offers an extremely comfortable driving experience. - 5.0
